Hi, I'm your trainer - Dr Jamie Byrne
Dr Jamie Byrne (she/her) is a clinical psychologist and lecturer at Deakin University. Jamie teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate counselling courses. Her research largely sits in two streams: (1) sleep, circadian rhythms, and health behaviours (e.g., physical activity, alcohol); and, (2) LGBTQIAP+ mental health, particularly the application of schema therapy to sexually diverse and gender diverse populations.
Jamie’s clinical work is largely with people who identify as part of the LGBTQIAP+ community; and those with eating disorder diagnoses and developmental trauma. She is an advanced schema therapist, predominantly using schema therapy as her treatment modality, and she loves supervising students and clinicians as part of her practice. Jamie is a proud co-host of the Meet Q podcast - an LGBTQIAP+ mental health podcast.
